As corona pandemic limited every aspect of human life so Y-Peer Afghanistan has engaged youth through social platforms and conducted 15 badges of Peer Peer Education training which started on 7th Aug 2021 and ended on 18th November 2021. There were a total of 15 badges and Y-Peer Afghanistan successfully covered 388 youths including 171 males and 217 females. Each session of training was carried out by two trainers of Y-Peer Afghanistan who were trained newly in 2021 and the duration of each session was for three days.

Y-PEER training team members started the esteemed training sessions according to the plan and schedule and a comprehensive presentation on elaborating Y-Peer and the topics which were covered during the training sessions has been presented by the trainers during each training and brief information was presented to the trainees. In order to make the training more adorable diverse techniques were used in order to entertain the trainees and continued the training according to the preferred schedule, the techniques and topics which were used and implemented during the training were as follows:

  • Role Play
  • Games
  • Videos
  • Information about Y-PEER
  • Practical Work
  • Ice Breaker
  • Group Works
  • Presentations
  • Lectures

During these 15 training sessions of Peer Peer Education, the following main topics were the main topics covered by the trainers during the three days which are as below:

  • Brief Information about Y-Peer & Y-Peer Afghanistan
  • HIV/AIDs causes and prevention.
  • Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)
  • Gender Awareness and sensitivities
  • Maturity age
  • SRHR
  • Life skill education,
  • Communication skills and Public speaking
  • Youth Health Counseling & Youth Health Corner
  • pre-marriage counseling
  • Drugs Prevention

The trainees were very cheerful about the unique idea of Y-Peer to conduct training sessions through the youth’s initiative the talented trainers of Y-Peer Afghanistan held the peer-to-peer training sessions with new methods during the three days and sustain the trainees more entertainment and work hard with them in order to know more about the Y-Peer and comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and the rest of other topics of the training and its methods. Thus, the participants realized to spread the messages to others around them in their societies. And the mentioned topics were well explained through multimedia. Along with this, it’s to be mentioned that The whole training and the facilitation took place in AFGA.

The Y-Peer training sessions continuation was successful as this training was wide in scope and achieved all the deliverables through the successful implementation of all training methods in a timely manner, the Pre-Training planning was thorough and considered, with monitoring and review throughout the Y-Peer, the overall goal of the training was clearly specified and recognized by all supporters involved in the training.

The experience gained from the implementation of the Y-Peer training sessions and other peer-to-peer training provided lessons learned that could be useful for trying to address the complex challenges of the training through communications and teamwork.

Y-Peer Afghanistan team try their level best and successfully concluded each training session along with a closing ceremony at the end of each training session all the certificates have been distributed consecutively to each of the participants, along with this Y-Peer Afghanistan appreciates such achievement of the Y-Peer Afghanistan team.
